I'd back Tony on that... my 90 stock V8 auto on just 'to/fro work' miles (3 miles) it's as low as 13, on high speed highway runs its been as high as 26. I ran from Baltimore to New Rochelle, NY on Rt95 and averaged 25/26 (better coming back) with a lot of time spent around 85mph. The car seems to really be happier at those speeds... or maybe its self-delusion... ;) oh, and no A/C running in 99% of the cases... but I don't live in Vegas ;)

Our 1991 3.6L stock V8Q Automatic has the 4-wire ford O2 sensor. It gets about 18MPG around town and 24-25MPG on the highway. That's my calculation. The computer almost always reads one higher than that. The A/C seems to change it about one lower as well. Oh, and we both drive a bit aggressive (I'm worse than the Wife!!)
