If the pump was replaced only 5 years ago, and the hoses were not,
then my money is on the hoses. As Bob said, the crimp connectors
leak. You should be able to have them rebuilt (old connectors,
new hoses, new crimps) at a local hydraulic shop -- think truck
stop or Caterpillar dealer. I believe there is a restrictor in
one of the hoses; if it isn't transfered to the new hoses, you
will hear groaning noises.
