I actually did gut mine, due to a flooded engine after a carwash - so I
speak from experience - it is junked now so no need to turn me in.  I did
not say that you would gain power - I just said that the car ran great
without it, meaning I did not notice any decrease in power (but I didn't
dyno it either).  It didn't sound like marbles in a can but it was
noticibly louder.  My point was this, if you don't have the money to fix
it, you shouldn't have any problems with drivablity or with the ecu
setting codes - and you can always go back and replace them at some point.
