[V8] Which generation quattro? (was replacing the V8 witha...a....a....a....)

Of course someone already pointed out that the V8's are 4-speed. Also, I 
tend to think that the trans issues were more an issue of neglect. I parted 
out an early 1990 V8 with a bad trans, the original, with 213K on it. I 
bought it from the original owner. The only reason the trans went bad was 
due to being filled with motor oil by some incompetent a##hole at a quick 
lube. I have the reciept!! The trans lasted about 500 miles after that.

I also have a V8 with 298K on it, and the trans has held up well. Doesn't 
shift as well as a few others with half that milage, but still pretty good 
nonetheless.
