Bart, there's a known link between the back seat cig lighter socket and a
bunch of lights. Are you trying to use the front one? I've not seen any
reports of issues with the front console cig lighter.

The trunk lock/unlock can be hampered by a corroded detent ball in the
lock. That's also an archived item, but, basically, if you remove the lock
assembly, there is a little steel ball that has to jump from one location
to another to allow the latch to function. If it works occasionally now,
it may be that a little penetrating lube like Kroil will get it moving. If
fixed two frozen ones so far starting with Kroil and ending by using a
screwdriver to open up the plates retaining the ball enough to spread in
some white grease.

There are some pix and another approach on Chris Miller's website
http://members.aol.com/c1j1miller/ put "trunk lock" in the search
feature. This one describes removing the little ball. All I did was get
it moving and then lube it. The two I've done have been good for the last
three or so years.
