You are quite correct about this. It did not seem to cause a problem for me -
but if the Caig stuff works better then by all means use it.

I also wondered about not having any lubricant left on the contact wiper -
something the Caig product probably contains, and another reason to use it.

In my case, I was ready to put a bullit through the Bose anyway because it was
unusable, and I had the Brake cleaner already. Lucky for me it worked out OK.
