[V8] V8 stall downhill in gear

I've never been able to get that "---" display on my '91 5-speed's trip
computer.  Pop off the gas while either remaining in gear or not, and
after a moment or two it shows 200.0 but never blank, like my 4kq did.
Always wondered if the computer had a problem... Yes/no?
