Ich auch ...
... but for me it was the driver's side door. I think right now #2 is
running with only the passenger's door speaker in operation!
My recommendation to you is to pull the door panel and get the speaker
unit unplugged ASAP. The amplifier unit is going to be getting very hot
... it is probably too late to repair yourself, but I'm concerned that
it might get hot enough to cause other damage. In my case I think I'll
be using the Bose service mechanism to get things back to work ...
I'm pretty sure the problem is the same as the others ... a bad
electrolytic capacitor somewhere. A simple short from a faulty device
should not cause an oscillation ... but a bad cap in a feedback loop
very well can ...
As to the sound coming and going with the radio in SAFE mode ... the
deck energizes a relay that provides power to the amplifiers ... doesn't
matter whether or not the radio is producing an output signal ...
whenever the amps have power they will oscillate ...
