Hi,
On the Girling equipped V8 it's the same as the UFO's (bare wire
embedded in the pad). Just make sure when you order pads that you
specify that you have the Girling equipped V8. I just did mine...that
chalkboard like metal to metal screech from the rotor grinding on the
worn brake...it'll take a couple years out of you. I wouldn't drive it
for more then a month once the sensor appears. That's about what mine
took when the pad was completely worn. Hope this helps.

Jeremy, I think the (o) symbol means "OH MY GOD !!...THIS IS GOING TO
BE EXPENSIVE" .. Perhaps it's just a pre-cursory warning to something
worse....
Just kidding.. It's brake pads.... On the UFO's it's a bare wire
embedded in the pad.. When it wares thru the wire, the circuit is
opened, and the light comes on... If your pads are good, check the
connector at the pads...
You DO need to get a glove box handbook.. Interesting reading, things
like "Your Audi V8 is equipped with the Quattro All-wheel drive
system.... WITHIN REASON, your Audi can go places normal cars
cannot..."(Paraphrased)
Or this one..."Warning: Anti-lock brakes CANNOT overcome the laws of
physics"....
Those germans are pretty sharp cookies....
