Good afternoon Kevin,
A bunch of e-mail was lost and could not be recovered from our servers
yesterday and I have a feeling that the one I sent you never got through
so I am re-sending it and copying the list hoping that someone will find
this helpful. A friend that has been doing emissions for 13 years gave
me the following list of things that may be causing your High
Hydrocarbon condition:
1. AIR FUEL MIXTURE TO LEAN
2. RUPTURED BRAKE BOOSTER DIAPHRAGM
3. LEAKING EXHAUST VALVE
4. FUEL INJECTOR PULSE WIDTH TO SHORT FOR ENGINE LOAD
5. IGNITION WIRE RESISTANCE TOO HIGH
6. IGNITION MISFIRE
7. CROSSED IGNITION WIRES
8. LOW COMPRESSION
9. HIGH COMPRESSION AFTER HEAD RESURFACE
10. LOW FUEL PRESSURE
11. 02 SENSOR VOLTAGE TO HIGH OR BIASED RICH
12. PCV VALVE RATE TO HIGH FOR SYSTEM OR STUCK
13. RESTRICTED FUEL FILTER
14. SECONDARY IGNITION WIRE ARCING TO GROUND
15. THERMOSTAT REMOVED
16. TIMING ADVANCED TO FAR
17. VACUUM LEAK BETWEEN THROTTLE BODY & INTAKE MANIFOLD
18. EGR VAVLE NOT SEATING AT IDLE
These are not in order of importance. It is a checklist they put
together over the years. Finally, if you e-mail me *ALL* of your
emission test readings, my friend can narrow down the problem for you.
I hope this helps. As far as the product I used, I cannot remember the
name and I have been told that it did not help.
Take care,

<<Zay,
Tony Hoffman gave me your email and said that you used something the
helps older cars pass emissions easier.
I have a 91 Audi 200 that's having trouble.
Thanks,
Kevin >>
