This may be one of the last times I post on the V8 website, so I wanted to
make sure to thank everyone for their valuable answers to various questions over
the years.
This may be one of the more curious things that can happen to the V8Q, but
if anyone has had a similar experience and a resolution to the resulting problem
I would be very interested!
The other day I was waiting to turn right onto a larger arterial and I was
in line behind what turned out to be a very attractive young lady. She pulled
forward to turn right after having waited for a while, and I assumed her lane
was clear as the arterial is not that busy of a street. While I was looking to
the right she changed her mind and slammed on the brakes, at which point she had
close to a 1000 lbs of audi bumb into the back of her SUV. There was not a
scracth on either car as the impact was very minor, and after she decided she
really did not need my phone number we went our separate ways.
However, when I turned the engine back on, it turned out that the windshield
wipers and headlight wipes along with the wiper fluid bump had been turned on
for good. I later disconnected the pump for the wiper fluid to prevent it from
wearing out. However, to disconnect the wipers, I had to take out fuse #15 which
also controls the turn signals. Incidentally the headlight wipers are still on.
Obviously, this is not a very good long term solution, and having the wipers on
constantly (even living in Seattle) is not either.
Any advice will be appreciated?
Finally (although the above story does not make for a very good sales
pitch), I am going to get a different car - specifically something more in line
with my technical abilities. If anyone is interested in buying this car, I will
be offering it up for a very competitive price. The engine had a new timing belt
put in about 25,000 miles ago. Transmission is about 50,000 miles old. Tires
have about 12,000 miles on them. The interior is in very good shape, but the
exterior has a dent and some minor scratches. Fairly new stereo system is
present. Major drawback may be that my mechanic think the catalytic converter
may be gone, but this has not been confirmed.
If anyone can suggest a price I can expect for this car, please advice.
Best audi wishes,
Henrik
