[V8] Temp gauge

My temp gauge only works intermittantly. I fixed other gauges by soldering
connections in the IC. When they were problematic, bumps or thumping the dash
would make them work again. The strange thing abt the temp gauge is that it
either works or does not from start-up. When I drive to work, it's likely to
operate on the way to work and not on the way home. I have checked out the IC
as best I can and have just replaced the temp sender at the left front cyl
head.
My guess is I'll have to pull the IC for another look but is there anything else
I'm missing here?
