John, you're right.  I did receive a lot of therapy here, and mostly don't
regret my decision to sell my V8.

But I never ever thought to buy an A8.  

And for sixteen grand, you can hire quite a lot of corrective surgery on any
V8.

Come to think of it, you could find that illusive 4.2 litre V8, buy it, and
put a few grand into making it perfect.  

Then drive the wheels off it, and it will probably be running long after the
A8 has succumbed to Modernengineeringitis.
