... looks like you caught your mistake ... yes, the radio in Audis is
always powered on ... this eliminates the need for the "ACC" position on
the ignition switch.  Unfortunately a lot of aftermarket decks will
consume too much power (like illumination for the display) if you don't
have a switched power source.

A couple items ...

I've used the contact on the ignition switch that is active whenever
there's a key in the lock cylinder to serve as the "ACC" switch.  You
can always insert some other key in the lock if you don't want the
people listening to the radio to be able to start the car.  

If you are installing a high power deck you might want to consider
adding new power/ground lines from the battery to the deck (fused of
course).  Remember that the Bose system has powered speakers, so the DC
supply to the deck does not have to account for the power needed to run
the amps.  You will be needing to run new speaker wires anyway, so why
not add a couple wires from the battery while you're in there.  

If you're still using the windshield antennae don't forget to provide
the power for the antenna amps!

BTW, if you are thinking of using a deck with an auxiliary power amp, be
sure to consider grounding strategies.  I've had some nasty ground loops
that I've had to deal with thanks to PO's attempts as improving the
factory setup ...
