[V8] Slight acceleration issue

My surge issue is largely cured. The most recent fix was the vacuum
line that comes from the lower passenger side of the intake hole when
the lower filter box is removed. Since then, I'm fairly convinced
that it's time to renew caps, rotors and since those were replaced
last right after I bought it in '99.

I replaced the fpr, the spark plug wires, the oxs, the intake air temp
sensor, and the throttle position sensor without any noticeable
difference. The oxs probably made the most difference of any of them.
I'm using a 4-wire with the groud wire connected to one of the bolts
that holds the cruise control diaphram bracket to the top of the back
edge of the block, chosen because there is another rather
significant-looking ground wire located there.

When I got my car the cams were not properly timed from a previous
timing belt replacement (after catastrophic failure), supposedly by an
Audi dealer.

That was corrected a couple of years ago and the car ran much better,
but still surged. When I first bought it I went through the vacuum
hoses, but the cc hose was either not caught or developed over time.

I guess I'd do the OXS first, then the FPR, then resolder the intake
air temp sensor connections because these are all cheap and easy.
