[V8] Open Trunk Sensor

I recently had some body work done to repair a dent I received when I was 
rear-ended.  After picking up the repaired V8, I noticed that when the trunk is 
open, the red "Open Door" light below the speedometer is lit and the interior 
car lights turn on.  In other words, it acts the same way as if a car door were 
open.  Before the repair, the open trunk did not cause this to happen.  Is 
this new behavior the way it should be?
