Thanks for all your input, guys - I've replaced the fuel pump in my V8 here in
Sydney thanks to information from the US and parts from the UK!

I discovered that twisting out the old 'cage' was possible by hand so long as
you have a thumb and a finger in two of the indents (if that makes sense). I
was first trying to dislodge it with my thumb against one indent - just wasn't
going to happen. The new cage has two 'posts' on the top which makes it much
easier to lock/unlock the cage.

I had the old 63mm pump, with sediment trapped between the filter and cage
section. I think this was why the pump was getting noisy if there was this much
crap in the join, I'd say some must've got thru.

The new cage I had to buy to fit the 43mm pump was completely one-piece - not
an insert like on the 200 website. I tried for some time to dislodge the top of
it to fit the pump but finally found that the pump could be twisted in from the
top. A tight fit - don't know how I'll ever get it out again if required! The
metal on the pump pos/neg posts is a bit soft so I fitted two nuts locked
together for the smaller post.
