I guess if you wanted to have the headlight monitor tell you when a
relay
coil goes bad you'd be right on ... ;-)
I think you missed what I was saying here...leaving the light
control module with stock wiring to the headlights and upgrading the
supply wire to the module. This would not put it series with the
relay coils, it would leave it factory wired. The relay coil(s)
would be connected to the "old" original supply wire from the switch
and ground.
I was under the impression that it was the supply routed through the
stalk mounted switch that was voltage drop culprit, not the wire
from the light control module to the headlight. I was suggesting
running a single large gauge wire from the battery to the footwell
and relaying it there.

I guess if you wanted to have the headlight monitor tell you when a
relay
coil goes bad you'd be right on ... ;-) All joking aside, that is
one way
to keep the monitor happy in its original location ...
The sensor module has to be in the current path of the lamp
filaments for it
to do its intended job ... and part of the whole reason you're
mounting the
relays under the hood is to eliminate the voltage drop from the
factory
wiring. That's why the module is being remoted ...
If you wanted to retain the factory location for the module you
could mount
the headlight relays in the car and run new high gauge wire out to
the lamps
... but that seems to be a lot more work than running a single small
gauge
wire back into the cabin ...
