[V8] V8 not charging

My similar experience (brush replacement) is that the windings of the
alternator get rusty and break because of  the exposure to the weather.
Take the alternator to a Bosch repair center and have them disassemble to
check it out.  I've had this happen on two Audi alternators so far, but not
yet on one of the V8s.  Do you have the belly pan in place?  That seems to
help keep puddle splashings away from the alternator.
