[V8] passing emissions with the V8Q

Here's an idea - my 93 went through inspection last week and passed with flying colors.  My mechanic told me the trick was to let the car warm up and bring it in running (ie, test it after a warm up drive).  Apparently, he said most V8's he's had inspected fail when you just start the car and test it then, since they're running incredibly rich at warmup.
   
  It's worth a shot, and is cheap (relative to repairs!)
