[V8] 40 mpg A8

Missed that episode but Top Gear is a great show that I tape off of BBC World weekly.
 
I happened to be in Frankfurt on the 24th of Sept....so I took in the car show.  Mercedes spent the most money on their displays but the Audi section had the hottest looking girls......they were mostly Polish.  Got to spend a little bit of time in an A8  W12.  It has a fridge for two bottles of champagne AND a fax machine in the back!.......nice Infinity speakers as well with speakers that pop up out of the top of the dashboard when in use.  I got to sip on champagne while I oogled the car and the girls.........
 
They had the new 4.2L (increased from 4.0) V8 TDI engine on display.  It looks complicated.  I counted no fewer than 4 chains at the back of the engine (driving camshafts among other things) in addition to the accessory belt at the front.  Then there's an additional timing belt at the back for the diesel pump.  Oh well.........I suppose that if all the additional complexity results in more power it can't be all bad........I'd buy the car........mind you, there is a real premium one has to pay to get the diesel........only the W12 engine is more expensive......and not by much!
 
My two 1990 Canadian V8s with slushboxes are running just fine.  Washed and waxed the red one last week......received a compliment on the car earlier today.....think I'll keep them.
