... where do you get $800 in parts? I don't see that much need to
replace anything but the belt and friction piece at 60K increments, with
the other stuff ... tensioner rollers, seals, water pump ... every other
time through. The big expense is the 10+ hours labor the book
stipulates.
Even if one assumes that it is $800 in parts ... how many folks are
driving their cars at a rate that would make the 60K interval be
anything shorter than say 5 years? $160 per year for the TB parts ...
doesn't sound that outrageous too me! I probably save that much in
cheaper insurance and registration fees.
I've said it before and I'll say it again ... IME on two cars I find the
V8Q to be cheaper and easier to maintain than any other T44 model ...
... guess I happen to qualify as unreasonable ...
