[V8] sealant and torque specs

Hi
I noticed the manual calls for a thin coat of AMV 174 003 01 sealant
when one replaces the sealing rings.(15-140-1)
I assume the manual is referring to the rings below the distributor
flange and the cam  cap ringl(the one on the passenger side)
How critical is that sealant ? I did replace the cam cap ring but I had
no sealer ,I just coated  it  with some clean oil.
 
2. Where can I find the torques for the distributors and their  flanges
and the  cam cap cover ?
