[V8] distributors mounting

Hi guys
I'm trying to set in place the 2 distributors ,part of the TB job.
I cannot push them in since I put  new rings and they are very tight.
 
1.	Does the rotor orientation matter or do I have to line it with
the slot in the distributor ?
2.	Could the rotor go in 180 degrees off ?
3.	How do you push them in ? I noticed the distributor body has 2
slots on the outside .I think the smaller one goes over the pin.
 
 I plan on buying 2 bolts slightly longer than the originals and tighten
them so they pull the distributor in. Any other ideas ?
