The bottles of Prestone I have around for use in my tractors and Suburban
do not say "phosphate free". They say they're safe for use in aluminum
engines. They describe their protection as a coating the corrosion
inhibitors create on the metal to isolate the metal from the rest of
whatever is in the coolant.

Maybe newer bottles say phosphate free???? I bought a bunch back when the
price of antifreeze started going up.
