[V8] Transmission Mounts - signs of failed mounts?

I remove mine the same way, I assumed the comment meant if you have
enough room to raise the cover and slide forward, then the engine is
sitting lower than normal due to the collapsed or worn motor mounts.  I
have not changed my mounts yet, will post results when I do.

Hmm.  Always been able to do that.  Maybe meant with a regular phillips
head
screwdriver to remove the three rear screws for the top airbox.  Before
I
bought the extra-long phillips-head and peeled back the wetherstripping
on
the firewall, I would indeed have to remove the crossbar.
