[V8] Driving with Air Filter Cover Off?-now K&N, etc

... if this is the case, I'd expect that the "tornado" device would do
much more harm than good.  The MAF is expecting uniform flow across the
intake manifold ... any turbulence is bound to screw up the reading the
MAF is providing to the ECU.  ISTR running the engine without the airbox
and honeycomb one time ... never drove it this way, but the idle was
very poor and the engine would stall on occasion.  Put everything back
in place and everything went back to the way it was ...
