... I've done the TB with the rad/core support in place and removing it.
Perhaps it is the practice I've gotten ... and not having a belly pan to
remove does help ever so slightly ... IME the car was designed to have
the bumper and core support removed easily ... so if I do need to go in
and do a timing belt again I'll go ahead and pull thread and core
support. If you've got frozen water pump bolts it does help a little
not having anything in the way.
That said, the manual does not require removal of either the radiator or
the core support to do the TB.

When I first got the car I thought the R&R of the bumper was very
difficult, but over the years I've gotten to the point where I don't
think it is that bad ... I don't know why it has to be the way it is ...
especially since the other T44s are *so* easy ...
