Jeremy,

Good that you didn't rip that trans case or pan off!  Anyhow, make sure you
photograph the damage and the road hazard.  I'd report to it to the county
or city (whomever has resposibilities for such things.  Depending on the
damage, you may want to notify your insurance company or at least talk to
your insurance agent -- he/she can advise you.
