My first experience with Audi was a brand new 85' 4000Q. I still have it parked the the back field after one of my employees crashed it into a telephone pole 10 years ago.
I had 186,000 miles on it and it ran like a champ. The little typical things keep going wrong (power windows, door handles and little annoying stuff).
The crash was very major and I thought I was going to get back on the road but it's beyond repair.
Been sitting in the back field over 10 years - if you need any parts let me know

well the 4000 quattro is pretty hard to kill... My parents had one when
I was a kid with over 400,000 miles on it and mine had 210,000 when I
got rid of it they are very reliable just they are expensive to work
on... If he does get it I would advise going to the parts connection or
something for parts and doing as much as you can yourself.
Otherwise it should be a great car all in all. I gave mine away and the
blue book value for most 4000's is well under 500$ if you actually look
at that :/ They are not worth much but they are worth alot in
reliablity. I would say if he has all the records and you test drive it
find nothing wrong with it by all means go for it..
But thats just my experience :) let others give feedback too I am sure
many here have owned a 4000.

PS. I still miss my 4000 at times cause of what I could do with it.
