[V8] looking for TB parts advice

They probably just get better pricing on non-Conti belts.  As I said
before, the last V8Q timing belt I changed was from WorldPac, they sent a
Continental (around $40), and it even had the purdy Audi rings on it as a
bonus.  Meyle is a parts reseller itself,  but they've never (that I know
of) sold parts under the Meyle brand that weren't as good, or better than
OEM.  The Meyle replacement ball joints for the recent problematic
Audi'/VWs' are actually 40-50% stronger and better made than the ones
Audi put on the cars at the factory.
