Not the timing belt, if it does stretch, it's marginal and unnoticeable.

If you wanted to, all you'd have to do is put the distributors back and
run it for a five or ten seconds. I wouldn't be running the water pump
dry for too long though.

If you look at the procedure, unlike most Audi's, on the V8Q the camshaft
pulleys are not keyed, you lock up the cams and accommodate the belt and
pulley then tighten the bolt. So if the cams are locked and the crank is
at TDC with the tensioner adjusted, I don't see the timing going
anywhere.

Turns clockwise from the front, helps keep the damper bolt in. ;-)
