A guy much smarter than me calculated that to turbo charge his SHO Tauras (about
3.0L motor as I recall) he needed the equivilant of about 28 horse power.
That shows you how much energy is wasted down the tail pipe.
This guy was a engineer for Ford, and had access to the source code for the
EEC-IV engine controller. He was going to do a custom turbo and ECU for his race
car. I am sure he did it, but I never saw it.

A 100 amp alternator - similar to the Audi unit, would be able to supply at most
1 horse power of energy, and that would be in very short bursts, and would
quickly kill the alternator.

Really, you would be much better off with the "rheostat on the air intake
sensor" performance booster kit. Just make the ECU think you are in Antarctica
and the power will come pouring out. ;-)
