[V8] fuel tank... *sigh* does it ever end?

You don't have to take the entire rear drive train "out". When I replaced
the tank in my 200q20v, I just had to drop the entire rear assembly a ways.
There's sufficient play in the driveshaft that removing the exhaust,
pulling the axles out of the strut housings and disconnecting the
crossmembers allows the rear subframe to drop down enough to wiggle out the
tank.
