[V8] KD, KF recalls

If I remember correctly, you can remove the trim panel under the
steering wheel and have side access to this module.  Much easier than
center console, in my opinion.

You might be thinking about the "power supply" box under the rear seat.
This
gets deleted with the new control box (which is in the center console).
The power supply btw is just a big capacitor in a metal box.

Your experience seems to confirm that the center console does have to
come out.
It is easy to do right if you are not an incompetent chimp, easy to do
wrong if
you are. It takes patience and time to do it right - something the new
kid at
the dealer probably does not have.
