[V8] mysterious grey plug in center console

Today I decided to hook up the check engine light and while in there (center
console) I came across a grey plug. Its located next to the pass side seat
heater switch and had a blank pluged into
it. The plug resembles the fog light switch plugs. Currious, I pluged in one
of the fog light switches. The swtch lit up. the lower portion of the fog
switch lit up too when I pushed in the button.
Only thing is, What was I turning on and off? I never seen this plug on any
of my previous v8's (all 3.6's) Anyone know what its for? Al
