The wiring for the Bose speakers is as simple as you originally suspected. The only odd thing is that there are phantom connections for power and grounds inside the loom that you need to be mindful of ...
The factory wiring for the Bose hooks up to a connector called T10b. Here's the pinout for that connector:
Pin 5 - Brown/Black - signal ground to amplifiers
Pin 7 - Black - Right Front signal
Pin 8 - White - Right Rear signal
Pin 9 - Grey - Left Front signal
Pin 10 - Violet - Left Rear signal
Looking at the wiring diagram can get a bit confusing with all of the accommodations for proper grounding and when you also have to deal with getting power and ground to the amplifiers themselves.
If someone needs the specific PDFs for the Bose on the V8 they are on pages 89-01-79 and 81-01-80. I can't post them to the list, but would be willing to send it to those interested for the asking ...
