[V8] dash lights

I'd check to see if there's a grounding problem with the rheostat
(dimmer) or other problem with the circuit board. So it happened as
you were doing it? Another option would be the usual trunk wiring or
license plate lights IME. Of course, I suppose a bad headlight
switch could also be the culprit. Enough for you to check into, Jason?
