Did you try the fibre washers, the kind that come with GM (Ford?) drain
plugs?  Kind of looks like a metal washer with a rubber lip.  Took care
of a similarly annoying leak on the 200TQA. 
The teflon tape is definitely better than sealant of any kind....reminds
me of when I removed about 1/4 pound of gasket sealer from my moms long
gone Oldsmobile's oil pump pickup screen.  Seems the dealer fixed an
under warranty manifold leak with about a pound of gasket sealer....
