I think Audi advised that the timing belt for the V8 be changed at 60k miles or after at least 6 years. But, the belt itself is not the only item one has to worry about. There is a friction pad, belt tensioner and various pulleys that the belt rides over that some shops or individuals neglect to replace when doing the timing belt. Should check the records to see when those items were done also.
