[V8] Timing Belt dilemma

Seems to me the only item truly affected merely by the passage of time would
be the belt. It flexes and is of a different material than the friction pad
and will age much differently than the friction pad and rollers, etc.

I think Audi advised that the timing belt for the V8 be changed at 60k miles
or after at least 6 years. But, the belt itself is not the only item one has
to worry about. There is a friction pad, belt tensioner and various pulleys
that the belt rides over that some shops or individuals neglect to replace
when doing the timing belt. Should check the records to see when those items
were done also. _______________________________________________
