I wouldn't hesitate to buy a car from GermanCarConnection.
I met Bruce a few years ago, and was impressed by his
Audi V8 knowledge and the way he deals with his customers.
If you do buy privately, make sure the seller has receipts
for maintenance. A timing belt change will cost about $800
for parts and another $700-800 in labor. A bad transmission
will cost $2-2.5K to fix. You don't want to rely on a seller
saying, "I just had that done." And a belt that was changed
just 30K miles ago is no good if that was also 6 years ago.
