[V8] rear diff lock?

I am experiencing a rear axle "shudder" very similar to driving/turning 
with the diffs locked.  Symptoms occur only when in reverse and making a 
max lock turn in one direction or the other.  I park on the street and 
back into a driveway to turn the car around and exit the street.  This 
does not happen during tight maneuvering in forward gears.  Ideas?
