[V8] V8 service records

Regarding the PNW V8 with no service records, someone needs to tell the
wholesalers and dealers that these are NOT chebby vans and if there are
no service records, the value and saleability of this specialty vehicle
is going to be reduced significantly.
This is an advantage to those of us who ARE willing to change timing
belts and make sure all the other time and wear items are correct.
However, it absolutely hurts the resale value of these cars to anyone
else because most people will NOT buy a car knowing it will need major
repairs RIGHT NOW before it can even be driven, and will go buy
something else instead.
The person who does buy it and has the timing belt snap 3,000 miles
later is going to be very unhappy, and will probably expect the dealer
to fix it, and file suit when he won't.
What we ought to do is on the few occasions when we do sell our V8s,
advise the buyers that the service records add thousands of dollars to
the value of the car, and make it much easier to sell.
With aircraft, the absence of logbooks can decrease the value by as much
as 50%, and in some cases actually results in a flyable aircraft being
parted out because nothing can be verified.
