The O2 sensor light is the check engine light. Thats what it is.... I 
know this for a fact due to my O2 sensor wire getting ripped in half by 
the front driveshaft. At anyrate when it got ripped in half check engine 
came on once it was fixed it was off. O2 sensor is directly related :)

The resistance values tell the computer to dump more fuel (had it with the 5-speed), but if the wiring has been cut or somehow compromised, the correct values will never be obtained. Then I'd check fro compromised wiring and repair/replace oxs sensor.  If that doesn't do it, it could well be the  temp sensor below the pass side distributor (but that should give a code).
