[V8] wires?

quick question, i am wireing up a light for my boost/vac. gauge. If i
want the light in the gauge to match the dimming of the dash, would I
have to connect it to the power for the lights in the dash? If so, looks
like like i will connect it to a keyed power source. I do not want to
remove my dash pad to hook up a simple light.
 
oh ya, if you were wondering about why i have a boost gauge, well i have
this m62 supercharger and i need 50-100 more hp to be happy.
