[V8] Old V8, New V8

Jason -

I too struggle with owning too many Audis. 2 V8s, an RS6 and an allroad. I look at newer Audis and think I may want to play with a A6Q 2.7T 6-speed for a daily driver. I see the complexity in the new cars compared to my V8. It is so much easier to repair the V8 than anything made in the last 10 years. These cars were the end of the threshold of easy to maintain and moving into full computerization. In fact the RS6 service manual calls for pulling the engine and transmission just to replace the turbos.

There is a sweet simplicity to the V8.

The only concern I have is going to me the availability of repair parts in the coming years. So enjoy these beasts while you still can. There wil never be another car like the V8.

Scott.

Hey guys,
I have been out of the v8 flock for awhile. Actually, I have had
one in some form or another for the past 7 years, but have not driven one
for about 2 years and I have always watched the list but have not made many
comments in the last 2 years. I just bought a new v8 with a bad tranny
a few months back and I have repaired everything on it, but have yet to
license it. I probably should sell this thing to make some money, but
I want to keep it so bad cause it is so good looking. I have it for sale
in various places but my heart isn't in it - I turn to you guys to tell me
how to justify keeping the car - please help.

           Thanks,
                Jason
