[V8] two ways of heat

I'm certain that it's, in the least, a valve issue. The valve is
clearly warped and split open and... non-functioning. Now, I know my
luck and I'm quite aware that after I drain some coolant, install the
new valve (and maybe block-to-valve hose), fill up the system again, the
heater core will most certainly leak. :)
Is there a bleeding procedure I need to do to prevent air pockets in the
block??
All my fuses at the block on the right-hand side check out good. I
think the seat heater fuse also runs other things, which I know are
good. I left the manual out in the car...
