[V8] coolant gauge and fuel gauge problem

Guys,

My friends V8 5 speed has a problem where the fuel gauge stays pegged at 
full no matter whether the key is on or off. Also, the coolant temp gauge is 
now doing the exact same thing.  Any suggestions???
