[V8] coolant gauge and fuel gauge problem

Last year I had the same problem when the really cold temperatures hit New 
Jersey. When I brought the car in to the local garage for some other work I 
had them check the fuel gauge problem. They tracked it down to a faulty 
sender unit in the fuel tank. I was going to replace it, but as soon as the 
temperature went up a little the fuel gauge stopped misbehaving. I'm waiting 
to see if it will act up again this winter.
